Where To Find Free Continuing Education Credits

Over the past month, I’ve received several pamphlets in the mail from companies offering continuing education workshops. While many of the courses look impressive, it stunned me to see their prices.

Yes, a top-notch workshop can be worth every penny you pay. But, over the years, I’ve learned that a lot of hidden gems out there don’t cost a cent.

Since I’m an RN, many of the sites I’m sharing today offer free CEUs for nurses. However, most of them also provide credits for other professions, too.

While I’ve taken classes through some of these sites, I haven’t used all of them. If you have personal experience, I would love to see your feedback in the comment section.

Continuing education requirements vary in each state. So, be sure to double-check the criteria before signing up for an online class.

Finally, even if you don’t need continuing education credits, many of you will find that these classes prepare you to serve your residents better.

NurseCEU.com

Here you’ll find an extensive list of free CEU classes pulled from many other websites. They also offer access to several hundred paid courses.

FreeCME.com

The CME catalog lists hundreds of health-related topics. You can narrow down the list by clicking on the categories that particularly interest you.

Vitas.com

If you subscribe to my newsletter, you’ve seen me recommend this site before. Vitas Healthcare offers a free monthly webinar on topics related to end-of-life care.

Medscape.org

This site offers an enormous number of health-related topics. Most of the online courses are brief and offer one CEU or less.

IntivaHealth.com

While currently offering 70 free CEU classes, Intiva also provides access to a wide variety of paid courses.

What other sites do you recommend for free CEU classes? Please let me know in the comment section.
