Isn’t this a fun idea? But, I’ll bet you’re wondering what this video has to do with nursing homes.
Well, I think it would be a hoot to invite a group of residents to load up your facility van, then go out and do what these people did. Residents would love this opportunity to brighten someone’s day, and I know they would enjoy being a part of a big surprise.
As I mentioned in my previous post about Make A Difference Day, nursing home residents are always receiving care from other people. That’s why they appreciate an opportunity like this to give back to others.
If you can’t afford flowers, I think you could simply offer a cute balloon attached to an encouraging note written by a resident. But, I wouldn’t be surprised if a flower shop would be willing to donate small bouquets to help your residents carry out this special project.
At the last stop of your outing, you can make the event even more fun by ordering an ice cream cone for each of your residents!
