Mother's Day gifts for nursing home residents

Are you looking for a Mother’s Day gift for your mom or grandma who lives in a senior living community? My mom spent time in a nursing home, so I know it’s challenging to find the perfect gift. You want to give a gift that’s enjoyable, useful, and fits within the limited space of her room.

Today I’m sharing several of my favorite creative ideas for Mother’s Day gifts.

Who doesn’t love fresh flowers?

I’ve ordered flowers from a few different companies over the years. The Bouq’s is now my go-to source for high-quality flowers and great customer service. This is the bouquet we ordered for a great aunt who lives in a nursing home:

Here’s a fun place to shop!

I like Etsy.com because of their enormous variety of unique gifts at reasonable prices. They add new items every day, so check back often!

Grandma T-shirts

This is just one of many fun T-shirts available for proud grandmas.

Air Plant Terrarium

This beautiful terrarium is fun to assemble and requires little care. Many styles are available.

Baby Announcement

The proud soon-to-be grandmother will enjoy showing this off to her friends.

Paint By Number Art Kits

These kits became very popular in the 1950s, and now they’re making a comeback. You don’t need any artistic talent to create a gorgeous painting.

Yarn Bowl

This beautiful wooden yarn bowl is perfect for anyone who enjoys knitting or crocheting.

Eyeglass Holder

Helps protect eyeglasses and makes them easy to find.

Are you looking for faith-based gifts?

My favorite source is an online store called DaySpring. They feature beautiful greeting cards and gifts for Mother’s Day as well as many other occasions.

Flowered Clip Frame

This is perfect to hold a special photo, notes from visitors, or personal reminders.

Promise Box

Housed in a beautiful box, these 140 cards provide daily encouragement. Residents can share the cards with caregivers who need extra encouragement, too.

Made To Shine Journal

This pretty journal also doubles as a guest book.

Of course, the best gift of all is the gift of time. Thank you for visiting a nursing home resident on Mother’s Day!
