Have you signed up for this year’s online Caregiver Smile Summit yet? The discounted early registration price expires on October 31. I don’t want you to miss the deadline and be disappointed!
I like to let my readers know about educational opportunities, and this one is worth checking out. For those of you who missed my previous post, I’ll share a few details about the Summit. Plus, today I want to share with you the experts that I’m most excited to hear.
Caregiver Smile Summits are online events that help us with the challenges of caregiving. This year’s program goes live in November.
Register now, and you’ll have an all-access pass to watch the presentations whenever you wish. You’ll simply stream the videos with internet access on your phone, tablet, or computer.
The focus of this year’s Summit is “Rock the Caregiving Experience”. You’ll learn practical tips to help you be a better caregiver while also taking care of yourself. Whether you’re a family caregiver, healthcare professional, volunteer, or student, I highly recommend this excellent resource.
These are the presenters that I’m most eager to hear. (The Summit features more than 40 experts!)
Dorothy Breininger
If you’ve ever watched the TV show, Hoarders, you’re probably familiar with Dorothy Breininger. As a professional organizer, Dorothy has been helping people conquer their clutter for nearly 25 years.
Even if your loved one isn’t a hoarder, it can still be difficult to help someone decide what to do with their possessions when the time comes to downsize. During the webinar, Dorothy will walk us through the process with kindness and understanding.
Tanya Brown
We’ve all heard the tragic story of Tanya’s sister, Nicole Brown Simpson. Besides the traumatic death of her sister, Tanya experienced other difficult life events that eventually drove her to attempt suicide.
Today, through her work as a life coach, Tanya shares powerful lessons to help us learn to cope with life’s challenges and overcome adversity.
Dr. Daniel Nightingale
Dr. Dan is an actor and comedian, as well as an RN and dementia care expert. His focus is on the use of humor in the caregiving process. Dr. Dan also talks about behavior as a form of communication for people living with dementia.
Dr. Dan trained with the real Patch Adams. (You probably remember Robin Williams starring in the movie by the same name.)
Carol Marak
A popular speaker and writer, Carol explores the unique challenges of aging alone. When someone has no spouse and no children, Carol helps answer the important question, “Who will be there for me when I am old?”
Connie Siskowski
Did you know that in the U.S. there are over 1.3 million children between the ages of 8 and 18 who are caregivers for family members? Connie shares about this hidden problem that can affect kids academically and socially.
Connie is also the author of the book, I Am A Teen Caregiver. Now What?
