How are your residents coming along with their Acts of Kindness for this year? If you missed any of the previous posts, you can find them here:
Now let’s look at possibilities for April:
1. Does your city have a community garden? Invite your residents to create row markers for people in the program. You’ll find lots of fun ideas on this site.
2. Decorate and laminate cheery placemats for Meals on Wheels.
3. It’s often said that laughter is the best medicine. Find a book of good, clean jokes. Invite residents to take turns reading a joke aloud before meals or activities.
4. Make birthday cards for children in foster care through the Cards of Hope program.
5. With their permission, give a hardworking caregiver a quick shoulder massage.
6. Host a teddy bear drive. Many police and fire departments give teddy bears to children to provide comfort during emergency situations.
7. Get a group of residents together and encourage them to reminisce about random acts of kindness they’ve received over the years. Then ask them to brainstorm ideas for acts of kindness to do for other people. They’ll probably come up with unique suggestions that never occurred to us.
I would love to let my readers know about acts of kindness your residents are doing this year. Please share in the comment section!
