How are you coming along with your Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes? I hope you have a nice stash of school supplies after all the great back-to-school sales this fall.
In a mere seven weeks (November 13-20), your boxes will be shipped to children all around the world. This is a great time to add a few fun, handmade items to your boxes.
Today I’m sharing links to 10 blogs featuring a variety of crafts your residents can do. These items make impressive additions to our boxes!
- Popsicle stick bracelets
- Sock animals
- Bookmarks from cards
- Button bracelets
- Plarn balls
- DVD game case
- Yo-yo caterpillars
- Foam lacing shapes
- No-sew pouches
- Clothespin caterpillars
What ideas do you have for handmade items to put in our Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes? Feel free to share a link to your blog in the comment section!
Update: I was recently reminded that many of the nursing homes, churches, schools, and other groups that put together Operation Christmas Child boxes in the past may have been affected by recent hurricanes. I’m sure shoeboxes are not at the forefront of their minds with all the personal challenges they’re facing. So I’m asking each of you to consider putting together a few extra boxes this year to help make up the difference. Thank you!
