Celebrate The Art Of Nursing

The Art of Nursing, A Nurse's Week Event #artofnursing #nursesweek

Wow, I was blown away by your positive responses to the article about MOOCs that I posted earlier this week. Out of more than 125 articles I’ve posted on my blog, only two others received more views and shares. This tells me that ongoing education is a high priority for you, my readers.

As a result, I decided to post an extra article this week and let you know about another excellent educational opportunity that’s coming up in May. Unlike the MOOCs, there is a fee associated with this program. However, I believe it’s worth every dime.

Consisting of twelve 30-minute videos on a variety of healthcare topics, the Art of Nursing webinar is designed to educate and inspire nurses in all specialties. The webinar goes live during the Monday of National Nurses Week (May 7) and remains open through August.

This program is hosted by Elizabeth Scala, RN. Last year, I heard Elizabeth speak at a nursing conference sponsored by Altru Health System. I was inspired by her ability to reignite the passion in our nursing careers. If your work is beginning to feel stale, then this is the webinar for you.

The Art Of Nursing webinar is designed to be used either by an individual or as a group at a healthcare facility.

  • Your facility can provide the program as a gift to their nurses. (Did you notice the banner at the top of the page? The survey says 65% of nurses prefer education over other perks for National Nurses Week!)
  • You can give the webinar to yourself as a gift, especially since it’s approved for nursing continuing education credit. This way, you’re able to watch the videos at your own pace in the comfort of your pajamas.

You’ll have an opportunity to learn from an amazing array of nurse leaders and mentors. These are the three that I’m most excited to hear:

Kati Kleber, BSN RN CCRN

Kati is one of my favorite nurse bloggers. You’ll find her at the FreshRN web site. While Kati is best known for educating and encouraging new nurses, I’ve learned a lot from her even after being a nurse for over 30 years. Kati will share practical lessons about the important topic of teamwork.

Rob Divers, RN

Would you believe this nurse once traveled with the real Patch Adams on clown missions? During the webinar, Rob will talk with us about “Healing with Humor, Music, and Magic”.

Dr. Renee Thompson

Renee is the founder and CEO of The Healthy Workforce Institute. Best known for her dedication to ending bullying in healthcare facilities, Renee will share strategies to create a more welcoming and supporting workplace.

Here’s what a previous participant shared about the webinar:

“This was my third year with the Art of Nursing program and I already can’t wait for next year. The speakers have tremendous value and I always take away numerous suggestions to better myself personally and professionally.”–Donna, RN

I have a niece who is a fantastic neonatal nurse, another niece who is an awesome CNA and manager of a nursing home, another niece who is a caring home health care nurse, another niece with CNA license but pursued phlebotomy, and finally a niece graduating with honors from high school in a few weeks that is going off to college to be a doctor of anesthesiology. I’m so proud of all of them!
