A reader recently asked if I have any suggestions for fundraisers to help pay for special activities over the holidays. You bet I do!
When considering possible fundraisers for this time of year, I love events that raise money and also contribute to the holiday festivities. Today I’ll share ideas I’ve featured in the past, plus several new ones.
Each of these posts contains detailed instructions to make your fundraiser a success:
These are additional possibilities:
- Create and sell Christmas wreaths. This is a project where residents will enjoy taking part, too.
- Hold an ugly sweater contest among your employees. Ask each person to pay a couple of bucks to enter. Invite a committee of residents to vote for the ugliest sweater, then offer a prize donated by a local business.
- Sell holiday-themed gift baskets. You can pre-set the prices or host a silent auction. Here you’ll find 120 theme ideas for your baskets.
- Provide an opportunity for people to create their own gingerbread houses for a fee. You’ll probably want to ask residents to help make the houses in advance. Then guests can decorate them with frosting and a variety of candies.
- Find a jolly employee who can dress up like Santa, then charge a fee for a photo. People will appreciate this opportunity to get away from the chaos and long lines at the mall!
- Invite residents to decorate Christmas ornaments, then offer them for sale. Besides making nice gifts, employees like to buy an ornament as a memento of their time working with the residents.
Now it’s your turn! Please share your holiday fundraising ideas in the comment section!
