So, since it only applies to the European Union, are you wondering why I’m telling everyone about it? That’s an excellent question!

While most of my readers live in the United States, I also have a significant number of readers from Canada, Australia, and the UK. A smaller portion of my readers live in various other countries around the world, including Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain. Since several of these countries are part of the European Union, the new GDPR rules apply to my blog. [Read more…] about What On Earth Is The GDPR?

effective nursing home communication

Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to write this guest post for the SixtyandMe community. I’m sharing the article here hoping you’ll add your suggestions. What can you tell family members to help them communicate effectively with caregivers at the nursing home?

I know most of you have friends or relatives living in nursing homes or other long-term care facilities. We all know that society tends to hold negative perceptions about nursing homes. They’re sometimes seen as places we should avoid and mistrust. Sadly, sometimes they deserve this reputation.

nursing home activities for Smile Power Day

Earlier this week, I shared ideas to help your residents to celebrate National Cheese Day on June 4. Today we’ll look at lots of fun activity options for another important holiday in June: National Smile Power Day on June 15.

What makes you smile?

nursing home activities for National Cheese Day

This week I’m sharing ideas to help your residents celebrate two little known holidays in June. Today we’ll talk about National Cheese Day (June 4), and on Saturday we’ll take a look at National Smile Power Day (June 15).

What’s that you say? You already celebrated National Cheese Lover’s Day in January? Yes, there is some duplication on national holiday calendars. But, that’s okay. In my opinion, you can never experience too much cheese.

These are my ideas for National Cheese Day. I hope you’ll share your suggestions in the comment section!
