Despite this, over the years I’ve worked with so many social workers who love their jobs. And they’re passionate about helping nursing home residents live the best lives possible.

This month marks the 2nd anniversary of NursingHomeVolunteer.com. What an adventure this has become! I’ve met so many fascinating people, learned a ton about the world of long-term care, and I’ve grown personally through the inevitable ups and downs of blogging.

Today I want to thank you for joining me on this journey. Your encouragement, suggestions, and constructive feedback mean the world to me.

How To Put More Fun Into Fundraising

The other day, I was scouring the Internet looking for more fundraising ideas to share with you. In the process, I came upon lots of articles about care homes in the UK that raise money on Red Nose Day. Held every two years, this popular event provides money to support a variety of charitable causes in the UK and other parts of the world.

Most of these care homes host traditional fundraising events like bake sales, walks/runs, and raffles. But what struck me was how much fun they create in the process. I was also impressed by the way they get everyone involved in the events including residents, families, frontline staff, and management.
