I’m excited to hear that many of you have had success with the fundraisers I’ve shared over the past several months! Today I’m featuring four more terrific ideas. While these fundraisers are hosted at facilities other than nursing homes, I know we can easily adapt them for any type of long-term care facility.
As before, I’m including a link to each organization. This enables you to contact them directly for more details.
If you missed any of our previous fundraising ideas, please check them out in the archives.
Dogs’ Big Day Out
Alice House Hospice in England provides a full day of fun activities for dogs and their owners. Each dog pays an entrance fee, and participants can also set up their own fundraising page. Activities include a dog walk, doggy games, an agility course, and a dog show. In addition, attendees can buy and win gifts for their dogs at various booths.
Pink Zone
The girls’ basketball team of Waukesha West High School in Wisconsin holds an annual fundraiser to help support breast cancer services through ProHealth Care. During their games, the team sponsors money-making activities such as silent auctions, bake sales, and raffles.
Accumulator Challenge
Ellenor, a hospice program in England and Wales, came up with a unique way to raise money while promoting teamwork, fun, and creativity in local businesses. The hospice gives each participating business the equivalent of about $60. The businesses compete to see who can grow these funds into as much money as possible over 4 months. Events include everything from bake sales to raffles.
Spring Bouquet Sale
Niagara Hospice in New York welcomes the arrival of spring with an annual flower fundraiser. Partnering with local businesses, schools, and churches, the hospice sells beautiful flower bouquets during March. Bouquets can be ordered in advance or purchased at walk-up locations. People who purchase a bouquet can choose to keep it, give it to a friend or family member, or donate it to a hospice patient or local veteran.
